The photo collection of photographer Aleksandre Roinashvili was published on the website of the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
In the 1860s, Aleksandre Roinashvili established the "Rembrandt" photo salon in Tbilisi with the assistance of photographer Khlamov, where he studied photography. Later, he owned two photo salons: "Sasarutkhato" and "Amkhanagoba." Numerous photos of Aleksandre Roinashvili are preserved on various photo albums or photo negatives in the depository of the National Archives of Georgia.
The photos of the collection were taken in the 70s-90s of the XIX century, and feature famous figures: Ilia Chavchavadze, Akaki Tsereteli, Dimitri Kifiani, Vazha-Pshavela, Alexander Kazbegi, Ivane Machabeli, Kote Abkhazi, the Catholicos-Patriarchs of All Georgia, Leonide (Okhropiridze), Kirion the Second (Sadzaglishvili), and others. The collection also includes photos of Tbilisi and different parts of Georgia and images of ethnographic content.
