On October 4, at 19:00, the Second International Archival Film Festival will be opened in the cinema of the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. 38 documentaries, feature, or animated films preserved in archives and film institutions in 15 countries around the world will be shown.
On October 4-7, the festival will present archival films of 1909-1975, directed by Alfred Machin, Dušan Vukotić, Jan Nemec, Leida Laius, Albrecht Victor Blum, Ella Bergman Michel, The Manac Brothers, Reinaldo Ferreira, Jimmy Murakami, Robert Siodmak and others, preserved in the National Archives of Georgia, the Royal Film Archive of Belgium, the Federal Archive of Germany, the German Film Institute, the Dutch Ai Film Museum, the cinema libraries of the Czech Republic, Peru, North Macedonia, the film museums of Portugal and Turin, the film archives of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, and Bulgaria,the National Archives of the USA and Malta.
The Tbilisi International Archival Film Festival was established by the National Archives of Georgia last year. On October 4-7, 2023, the festival will be held for the second time, and this year's theme is "Treasures of Film Archives".
