The newly discovered film footage of the director Kote Marjanishvili's funeral was digitized with a 4K resolution scanner in the National Archive of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
A film tape of the funeral of the founder of the modern Georgian theater was found in the storage of the "Mematiane" studio a few weeks ago among the previously undeciphered material.
Kote Marjanishvili died on April 17, 1933 in Moscow, Russia. His ashes were brought to Georgia and buried on April 29, 1933 in the yard of the Opera House.
