The Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, congratulated the staff of the National Archives of Georgia on the occasion of International Archives Day. Together with the Director of the National Archives, Teona Iashvili, the Minister honored outstanding employees with certificates of recognition and commemorative gifts, while two members of the staff were bestowed with the honorary title of Distinguished Archivist.

In addition, the Minister convened a working meeting at the National Archives, during which discussions focused on ongoing initiatives, future development plans, and the challenges currently facing the institution. Together with his deputies, Paata Salia toured the National Archives’ facilities, familiarizing himself with the working conditions of the staff on site.

International Archives Day, observed annually on June 9, was established in 2007 by the International Council on Archives (ICA). As a member of the ICA, the National Archives of Georgia commemorates this important date each year through a series of events and initiatives.
