The selected letters of the World Post Union International Letter Writing Competition will be stored in the National Archives

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia and the Georgian Post, under which up to 50 selected letters from students participating in the Universal Postal Union international letter writing competition will be handed over to the National Archives for storage.

The competition was organized by the Georgian Post and the theme of the competition was "Write a letter to your family member about your experience with the Kovid 19 pandemic." At the event held at the Georgian National Museum, the jury revealed the best three, as well as the authors of selected letters from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Education and Science. It is important that the work of the first place winner is sent to the "World Postal Union" and will be included in the international competition program. As a result, the award ceremony for the author of the World Post Union International Competition will be held on October 9, 2021, International Post Day, at the headquarters of the World Postal Union (Bern - Switzerland).

The event was attended and addressed by the Deputy Minister of Justice Buba Lomuashvili and the Director General of the National Archives Teona Iashvili.
