The document of the current week of the National Archives of Georgia is the manuscript – Neumetic Hymns, 10th-11th centuries.
One of the earliest Georgian manuscripts decorated with the neumes. It is rewritten with the calligraphical nuskhuri; the headings, initials, wills and the neumes – in cinnabar. In spite of the fragmentary form, the will is preserved, written in mtavruli. The parchment, size: 14.4X10.5.
The neumes are the oldest elements of the musical notation. According to the specialists, it should have been formed in nearly 8th–9th centuries.
The Weekly Document represents the project of the National Archives. It aims to provide the society with the information, concerning the unique and diverse materials, preserved at the archive.
