As part of the Third International Festival of Archival Films organized by the National Archives of Georgia, a panel discussion was held on the topic "Cinema as Cultural Heritage, National Identity, and Social Context."
This panel discussion is a new feature of this year's film festival, aiming to foster discussions among representatives of film institutions from participating countries about the importance of film archives and the challenges in this field, as well as sharing experiences and perspectives.
The discussion was led by Michal Bregant, Director of the Czech National Film Archive. Participants included: Charles Farrugia, Director of the National Archive of Malta; Rui Machado, representative of the Portuguese Cinematheque; Heidi Holmstrom, representative of the U.S. National Archives; Nino Kavataradze, representative of the National Film Center of Georgia; and Giorgi Kakabadze, Director of the Central Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents of the National Archives of Georgia.
