In 2023, approximately 22,600 citizens received archival certificates from the National Archives of Georgia, part of the Ministry of Justice, while 1,995 citizens worked in research halls.
Among the researchers, 65 were foreign nationals, and they conducted research throughout the year on topics such as the history of the Caucasus, the spread of infectious diseases in Georgia and the Caucasus, the architecture of Tbilisi, resorts and sanatoriums in Georgia, real estate, and genealogy of surnames.
Additionally, to facilitate the registration of citizens' rights to real estate, the National Archives provided nearly 12,500 documents to the Public Registry National Agency as part of the state project for land registration and processed approximately 571,600 archival data under the systematic registration project.
At the National Archives, citizens can obtain social and legal certificates, including those for birth, death, marriage, repression and rehabilitation, work experience, biographical information, property rights, and more.
Reference services from the National Archives are available at Justice Houses, as well as regional and local archives.
