The original of the document, issued by Nikoloz Amilakhorishvili, Catholicos of Kartli was discovered fully at the back of the saint’s miniature during the restoration of the 16th century Gulani, preserved at the National Archives.

It represents the report about the conditions of the Samtavisi church and the desert of Zosime Samtavneli (1678-1695). It was stated that the document is autograph and the signature is added. Supposedly, Nikoloz has written the report in 1692-1695.

The book was passed to the Laboratory of the National Archives for the restoration in November of 2012. Restoration and conservation of each paper of the manuscript, as well as the restoration of the miniatures and strengthening of the paint is made.

The full restoration of the book will be finished during the current year and this unique manuscript will endurance the centuries.
