"Memoirs" was written by Niko Bagration, the same Niko the Boer, while in exile on the island of St. Helena. In these "memoirs" he describes his daily life and feelings. In 1899, the trip of Niko Bagrationi, who went to Africa to hunt lions, coincided with hostilities by England against the Republic of South Africa (Boers). He joined the war and fought on the side of the Boers. At the end of the war, he was captured and exiled to Saint Helena Island.
