Photo exhibition “Racha” was opened today at Ambrolauri Cultural Center – Fine Art Museum. The event was attended by Teona Iashvili, General Director of the National Archives of Georgia and Parmen Margveladze, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti governor.
The photo materials, preserved at the National Archives of Georgia are presented at the exposition. Among them are: the photos of Dimitri Ermakov and the Italian photographer Vittorio Sella taken in Racha in the 19th century – types, views, monuments; photos depicting the travel of Akaki Tsereteli in Racha-Lechkhumi (1912). Besides, there are the photos of the 20th century Ambrolauri, Oni, Shovi; Flood (1987) and earthquake (1991) of Racha; photos from the film “Racha Chamo Sikvarulo” (“Racha My Love”) (1977).
During the exhibition the fragments from the first Georgian documentary “Travel of Akaki Tsereteli in Racha-Lechkhumi” filmed by Vasil Amashukeli in 1912 was shown.
The photo exhibition at Ambrolauri Fine Art Museum will last till the end of the week.
