The presentation of the electronic catalogue was hold at the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The presentation was attended by Mr. Davit Jandieri, First Deputy Minister of Justice and Ms. Teona Iashvili, General Director of the National Archives of Georgia.

According to Mr. Davit Jandieri, “Creation of the electronic catalogue will simplify to the employees of the National Archives to search for the necessary document or the information. Accordingly, the citizens will be served more quickly and comfortably. Besides, the usage of the catalogue will protect the original documents from the frequent use”.

Ms. Teona Iashvili mentioned that “the annotations of the fonds, descriptions and files, as well as, the digital copies of the documents will be located in the catalogue. The annotations are composed according to 3 international standards – ISAD, ISAAR, ISDF. For the present time about 20 000 annotations of the files and digital copies of the 34 000 pages of documents are located in the programe. Besides, about one million pages are already scanned and they are uploaded in the catalogue permanently”.
