Exhibition "Georgia under the Auspice of the Virgin Mary" was opened at the Exhibition Pavilion of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia today on the occasion of the Auspice Day of the Virgin Mary.
The exhibition presents manuscripts, historical documents, ancient books and photographs of religious content, preserved in the National Archives.
Visitors can view both photocopies of documents, as well as originals of important manuscripts and documents, such as the 9th century Unbandidi Gospel, included in UNESCO World Heritage Register, the Gospel-Palimpsest (IX-X, XII-XIII, XIV centuries), Neumatic Hymns (X-XI centuries), Book of Psalms (X centuries); Other important manuscripts and documents including: The Gospel of Anchi (12th century), The Kalmakhi Gospel (1534); Donation Book to the Catholicos Dorotheos to Itria Virgin (1592-1600) and many others; Photos of Tbeti, Akhtala, Bichvinta Church of Virgin, Bedia Monastery, etc.
The exhibition at the Exhibition Pavilion of the National Archives will last til May 20. Attendance is free of charge.
